On November 03, 2022，School of Food and Biological Engineering (FBE) organized a seminar to discuss how to write good research proposals for various funding agencies. The 

seminar was chaired by Prof. Chen Xiumin. Two foreign faculty members of FBE, named Dr. Muhammad Arslan and Dr. Muhammad Zareef, delivered their talks on proposal writing. 

The foreign young faculty members, postdocs and overseas students of FBE attended the seminar and participated in this interactive knowledge-sharing platform.

    In their insightful presentations, the speakers shared their success stories in receiving International Young Scientist Research Grant from NSFC and outlined the strategies for writing good research proposals for funding applications to the young fellows. Dr. Arslan and Dr. Zareef also shared their recent research progresses and life-changing moments at Jiangsu 

University. In particular, they talked about the possible grant application openings for foreign researchers in China, and strategies for selecting a timely and attractive research topic, 

designing impressive research content, and justifying the budget of the proposed work.

    At the end of the presentation, the postdocs and young faculties asked questions to the speakers and discussed the key issues of funding application and conducting successful 

research.
